At Lucca City, people see it remains fascinating, enclosed by the imposing walls that have protected it for centuries, built in the 16th/17th century to defend the city from the enemy attack of the surrounding cities. Lucca still retains its medieval appearance all to visit by walking through its constraints and narrow streets, Torre delle Ore, present in Via Finlungo in the main medieval village and then we find the 44m Guinigi Tower built as a defence tower by the Guinigi Family in the 14th Century, impossible not to recognize it with its trees on top of 230 steps. Walking along its narrow streets, we often find ourselves in front of historical churches such as San Michele in Foro, San Frediano and San Martino to name some of the principal presents.

Piazza Anfiteatro, an unusual oval square built by the Romans in the 2nd century AD, used at the time as a prison and during the Middle Ages as an arena, today it is the living room of Lucca and a place to sip something on a sunny day.

Many typical restaurants, both in the province more inland in the city of Lucca, where we can taste specialities of the Lucchesi accompanied by wines and local liqueurs of excellent quality.
